1) THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO YOU IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS?
The best thing that happened to me not only in the past 12 months but in my whole life are my family and friends. But it became even more obvious when my Dad died on New Years eve. The love and support of these precious people in my life was overwhelming.
Professionally, as a voice artist my work in the audio book sector really kicked off in the last 12 months for which I am very thankful for.
I have never read that many audio books in my life before.

2) THE WORST THING THAT HAPPENED TO YOU IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS?
My mother is living in Turkey. I haven’t seen her for more then two years now. This is heartbreaking. Especially due to the fact that my Dad died in Berlin and she could not be here with us.
3) YOUR BIGGEST WISH FOR THE NEAR FUTURE?
My biggest wish for my new future is to visit my family in Turkey as soon as possible.
It’s overdue for my kids to see their turkish family and friends. Also I love traveling in general so I can’t wait to finally explore the world like I used to before the pandemic.
4) YOUR BIGGEST WORRY FOR THE NEAR FUTURE?
My biggest fears are the rise of nationalism, racism, sexism and the widening gap between rich and poor.
Also, I don't want to underestimate the power of patriarchy and the arrogance of the privileged white man.
5) A CONTEMPORARY WOMAN YOU CURRENTLY ADMIRE?
Any woman who is in peace with herself, fights for her rights and does her thing.
And as one simple example for all the wonderful strong women out there I would like to highlight Betül Mardin, the pioneer of public relations in Turkey. (All of a sudden I realize that most of my answers are about Turkey. I seem to really miss my family very much!!)
And just because it is super current: Billie Eilish for her strong words in the Vogue Magazine.
“Suddenly you’re a hypocrite if you want to show your skin, and you’re easy and you’re a slut and you’re a whore. If I am, then I’m proud. Me and all the girls are hoes, and f— it, y’know? Let’s turn it around and be empowered in that,” she said. “Showing your body and showing your skin — or not — should not take any respect away from you.”
6) A ONE-SENTENCE MESSAGE TO OTHER WOMEN?
Keep away from toxic relationships and never ever let others dictate your life.
7) THE WORLD HAS BEEN CHANGING DRAMATICALLY IN RECENT MONTHS, HOW ARE YOU COPING?
I am doing yoga, driving bicycle as far as I can, meditate and doing breath work for myself and like I said before I am surrounded by beautiful people. We take care of each other and try to make the best out of every moment.
8) WHICH CHANGE OR EVENT HAS AFFECTED YOU THE MOST / HAD THE BIGGEST IMPACT ON YOU PERSONALLY?
Homeschooling. I am more than disappointed in the education system we are living in. I can’t believe that we are in this situation since the beginning of 2020 and we still don’t have an adequate solution for Homeschooling. Don’t get me wrong, this ist not about the teachers. It’s about the system. The German education system has still not been able to provide a proper online teaching and education platform. So I am teaching my kids at home full-time . As a self-employed single mother of two kids this situation is more than frustating.
9) WHAT ARE YOU MOST CONCERNED ABOUT THE RIGHT NOW?
Losing a beloved one and not being able to be there for him or her due to travel restrictions is one of my biggest concerns right now.
