1) THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO YOU IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS? I bought my very first home for my son and I. I was so proud of myself because I wrote out my vision for the year, made it plain and I followed through with the plan. 2) THE WORST THING THAT HAPPENED TO YOU IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS? COVID came and I have not been able to see my mentees physically in seven months. I was used to see them at least once a month and it makes me sad. 3) YOUR BIGGEST WISH FOR THE NEAR FUTURE? To own a group home for runaway girls. I want to pour into them the wisdom that my mom poured into me. 4) YOUR BIGGEST WORRY FOR THE NEAR FUTURE?

That racial disparities will continue. I often fear for my black son as he grows older. 5) A CONTEMPORARY WOMAN YOU CURRENTLY ADMIRE? I admire Michelle Obama for her ambition and her drive. She is very poised and I love her for the woman she presents herself as to the world! And Taraji P. Henson.

6) A ONE-SENTENCE MESSAGE TO OTHER WOMEN? "Don't let the process punk you out of the promise."

A few more questions about the current situation(Covid-19, lockdown, black lives matter protests, politics, finances, mental health, health, and so much more):

You can also send one single answer to the 3 questions combined. 7) THE WORLD HAS BEEN CHANGING DRAMATICALLY IN RECENT MONTHS, HOW ARE YOU COPING?

Currently I have been coping by being intentional about reading the bible everyday, reading daily one of my books from my library, teaching my son about personal moments a day and take them, and getting caught up on all my shows that are recorded on my dvr ha!

8) WHICH CHANGE OR EVENT HAS AFFECTED YOU THE MOST / HAD THE BIGGEST IMPACT ON YOU PERSONALLY?

I would say the racial killings have made a huge impact on me because my son has asked me many of questions. He is 9 and extremely curious. It has bought about many conversations I honestly was not prepared to have but I had to have them and not shy away so he too can be educated. 9) WHAT ARE YOU MOST CONCERNED ABOUT THE RIGHT NOW?

I am most worried about the world and how it will begin to function after COVID is lifted. My son is doing virtual school and I often worry has he gotten all that he would have gotten if he was in school. Would he have grasped the concepts just a little better face to face. Will they have to reteach what was taught this year?
