1) THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO YOU IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS?

I have been afforded the opportunity to work with so many of the womxn that I look up to and draw inspiration from. I also became a published author alongside 9 incredible womxn in a collaborative book called Perils of Patriarchy.

.

2) THE WORST THING THAT HAPPENED TO YOU IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS?

Losing my father just over a year ago.

.

.

3) YOUR BIGGEST WISH FOR THE NEAR FUTURE?

Making visible impact through all the work I do. I hope to look back in a year’s time and be able to say I was able to change at least one person’s life.

.

.

4) YOUR BIGGEST WORRY FOR THE NEAR FUTURE?

To be honest, my biggest worry is not achieving my short-term goals.

.

.

5) A CONTEMPORARY WOMAN YOU CURRENTLY ADMIRE?

I have two, Busi Mkhumbuzi Pooe and Candice Chirwa.

I don’t think these two ladies realise the impact they’ve had on me and many other women. They are proof that you can do anything you put your mind to.

.

.

6) A ONE-SENTENCE MESSAGE TO OTHER WOMEN?

Don’t ever feel like your accomplishments are too small, there’s always someone watching and admiring in silence.

A few more questions about the current situation (covid-19, lockdown, black lives matter protests, politics, finances, mental health, health, and so much more):

7) THE WORLD HAS BEEN CHANGING DRAMATICALLY IN RECENT MONTHS, HOW ARE YOU COPING?

It has been a tough few months. It was difficult adapting to this new normal, but I’m doing much better now and have found ways to look after my mental health during this time.

.

.

8) WHICH CHANGE HAS AFFECTED YOU THE MOST / HAD THE BIGGEST IMPACT ON YOU PERSONALLY?

I suffer from really bad anxiety, so the implementation on a lockdown had a knock on my mental health. I like working in different spaces and having that being taken away meant I was battling to be productive and ended up feeling very demotivated.

.

.

9) WHAT ARE YOU CONCERNED ABOUT THE MOST?

The effects this pandemic will have on the poor. More than anything, it has affected them the most and it’s going to take those communities even longer to recover from both the physical and economic effects.
