1) THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO YOU IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS?

The best thing that happened to me this year despite all the chaos going on in the world is going viral with my posts campaigning for women’s rights, a cause very close to my heart. I’d like to think that mine and many other posts have helped shape the Turkish government’s policies.

2) THE WORST THING THAT HAPPENED TO YOU IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS?

The worst thing, besides the obvious answer that is the global pandemic, has to be how the uncertainty has affected my mental health and anxiety. I’ve definitely had my ups and downs, and no day is like any other. But I am learning to navigate through it.

3) YOUR BIGGEST WISH FOR THE NEAR FUTURE?

I hope that us humans learn to treat Mother Earth and each other better. This year, I’m hoping, has taught us that situations can change very quickly, therefore we need to be much kinder to one another as well as to our environment.

4) YOUR BIGGEST WORRY FOR THE NEAR FUTURE?

My biggest worry right now is the lack of compassion I observe on a daily basis.

5) A CONTEMPORARY WOMAN YOU CURRENTLY ADMIRE?

The woman I admire the most right now has to be Gulsum Kav (@gulsumkav), the co-founder of the We Will End Femicides Platform. Every step she takes is more and more inspiring for women worldwide. She gives us hope.

6) A ONE-SENTENCE MESSAGE TO OTHER WOMEN?

Your voice matters more than you think.
